雪山下的薰衣草

读SUNSET杂志的一则关于Mt. Shasta Lavender Farms消息动了去雪山下的采摘薰衣草的念头.

周五的清晨出发, 五个小时后住进了 Mt. Shasta 山脚的木头屋里. 第二天, 也就是在Mt. Shasta Lavender Farms这个季节对公众开放的第一天的早晨我找到了这片隐蔽的薰衣草花田.

女主人GAIL递给我一杯薰衣草味的清凉的饮料, 又招呼我品尝薰衣草味的饼干. 远望”孤独如上帝, 纯净如冬日月亮的”雪山Mt. Shasta , 还有绿意浓郁的Shasta山谷, 呼吸着风吹来薰衣草淡淡的香气, 洁净的雪的气味, 泥土在阳光下吐露的温热的气息, 有一种醉意!

有时候到一个地方就不想离开, 因为那里有你想要的东西...... 这地方可能就是 :-)

Our lavender is watered from a deep well of naturally carbonated water with the same pH as rain water. It thrives in well-drained volcanic soil and enjoys a full southwestern exposure. 大多数的薰衣草还是花苞, 还只开了一些.....

山谷的风光非常优美.

在石凳上坐会, 然后循薰衣草种植的花径一圈圈的走走......让灵魂在这歇息!

将花蓝放在椅子间, 和爱人安静地坐在阴凉里, 沐浴在薰衣草的香气里,
不浓烈, 只是淡淡的, 幽幽的!

当John Muir第一次看见 Mt. Shasta时, 他说:" Yet all my blood turned to wine, and I have not been weary since."
远望雪山, 我的lavender lemonade 也变成了美酒......:-)

很喜欢花庄的这所房子的色调......和大地, 蓝天, 薰衣草水乳交融!
