There are only 3 border crossing stations between
Israel and Jordan. Likely you will use the middle one (Jordan Bridge) to go to Jerusalem.

You may use Taxi to go to Jordan Bridge from Petra.
But Taxi (5 seats) are expensive.

Petra to Ammen and then Ammen to Jordan Bridge will be a
different story, because you can use Bus, Van and MiniVan
instead of Taxi. It will save you a lot of money, although
they are also run by private persons.

Actually 2 of my companies in my trip to Jordan went back
to Southern Border in Eilat from Petra by Taxi to go back to Israel. They
figure it will be better to their interest. But I did
not know how they calculated. Not sure if it is the better way to do it.
