big island recommendation

In big island i recommend Arnold's lodge. it is a famous place for backpacker. But they also have nice one bed room with shared kitchen for around $80 per night. it is close to volcano national park. Not very far away from Arnold's lodge, there is a farmer's market, very good place to buy fresh fruit. $1 for 6 papayas. In the morning, you can go to the park around the lodge, you can see the beach there is dark green. Arnold's lodge also offer a sunset tour, you can go to the top of the mountain. Very breathtaking. and you can see huge telescopes there. If you stay there, they offer tours 50% off regular price.

If you have kids, recommend you to bring him to the historical national park in Kona. There is nothing there, but very good place to see Hawaian turtles. We saw at least 12 of them in the beach. Best time to see tham is around lunch time.

If you want to see both turtle and volcano, i would recommend you to stay at least 2 days in big island. don't buy kona's coffee in the coffee farm. In Walmart, you can find the same coffee about 40% cheaper.
