You will get all your questions answered. If you stay in Kihei, it is convenient to go anywhere around the island.

Personally, I really enjoyed Heavenly Hana. The Pipiwai trail is very memorable. However, I don't recommend driving to Hana and back in one day - then you miss the whole point of going to Hana.
