In Seattle area, try Mt Loop Hwy (East of Granite Falls). Hwy 2 to Stevens Pass and Leavenworth, Hwy 20 into Northern Cascade National Park and Hwy 542 to Mt Baker Skiing area are all excellent. I expect the fall colors to peak in the next couple of weeks. They won't be as dramtic as New England...
