Isn't there some devices you can pre-heat your car?

I feel for you.

Years back we spent one X'mas in Toronto - and it was the coldest X'mas in over a century - it caused many pipes bursted because folks went out of town, or shops/offices shut down for holidays and not enough heating was turned on.

That was the last time we went to Toronto for X'mas, naturally.
