回复:但我的理解是工作机会比美国少很多

In US, it is almost impossible to get green card without a US degree. All of my friends with US green card have US degrees (master's or above, no undergraduate degree). Therefore, it is not surprising for them to find jobs easily.

In Canada, many Chinese do not have Canadian degree. All my Canadian friends with Canadian or US degrees, even with a undergraduate degree, all of them have Canadian's PR (green card). None of them had difficulties to find a good job.

In my view, Chinese with children in Canada had a slightly better life than their US conterparts.

My definition of good job and a good living is:

--- Can afford an average single house in where they live
--- Having two cars
--- Can easily afford two to three child in full-time daycare or a full time baby-sitter
--- Can have one domestic trip and one oversea trip every year
--- Can contribute to the maximum allowed amount to their retirement saving plan
--- Can save enough money for children's university education (need mouch more money in US)
--- Have good health insurance for everybody in the family (a non-issue in Canada)
