It is more important for them to extract benefits from this world as much as possible while to avoid harm or loss as much as possible. They won't respect anything standing in their way.

This must be true in all nations, yet it might be more easily manifested in the Chinese nation due to, like I said before, the fact that Chinese culture is not racially and religiously binding. In a religiously or racially binding nation, for instance, one can get killed once considered a traitor. So it is safer to be a traitor in the Chinese nation.
