還是更喜歡top-down 和 bottom-up 的說法。中醫是前者，西醫是後者。西醫對這種bottom up的方法

好像十分自信，但這種方法在科學中其實也是比较初級的。前者在物理學最成功的例子是廣義相對論。僅從等效原理的"外"在大輪廓，导出整個理論的''内"在經絡。這是愛因斯坦被別的物理學家佩服的原因。因為它的整一性和美感。

But general relativity is hardly used in the industry while quantum mechanics is everywhere useful. Quantum mechanics is more like western medicine, with a bottom-up approach, it pieces many discoveries together but lacks a thorough philosophical interpretation. In a more or less similar manner, western medicine is more effective in numerous daily cases.

But Chinese medicine may offer a better understanding of the dynamics of the human body though it can seem helpless in confronting some actual problems that are easily manageable for western medicine.

Western medicine, lacking a wholistic view, working from the inside invasively from the very beginning (while Chinese medicine leaves the inside intact), when there is a side effect, can be devastating.
