一直記得一個畫面。。

About 20 years ago I visited Beijing in order to see the capital. In some huge bookstore that looked like a shopping mall,  a spiral stairway rose from the floor all the way up to the ceiling. On either end of each rung, there was a reader sitting with a book... It was a very impressive view.

I later described this to a co-worker as I returned to US, she concluded that Chinese people was a cultured people and everyone loved to read.
