Chinese culture is still at work here. They still somewhat respected the elderly though a young woman at the end remarked to the elderly "... You are about to die anyway..." (off camera, but you would hear it if you speak Cantonese). Yet none of them physically touched the elderly. This must be one reason that I still hesitate to boldly name them "rioters" rather than "protesters", and why I still think we should punish the westerners involved first. They are the true evil here. And this is also why I said that the key word in this HK event is "colonialism" but "democracy" or "freedom".
