Taiwan’s recycling rate of 55% makes it a world leader (via The Wall Street Journal) :

 

"Taiwan recycling is some of the best in the world. Pound-for-pound, Taiwan is the biggest recycler on the planet. The funny thing is, Taiwan has no public recycling service; it's all done by individuals."
