Singapore's 1st city-centre reservoir
BY NEXT year, Marina Reservoir will be turned into a freshwater reservoir, come rain or shine.
The 15th reservoir in Singapore - and the first to be located in the city centre - will not only act as an additional source of water, but also be a tidal barrier to keep salt water out as well.
At a tour of the facility yesterday, PUB showed how desalting, a process to turn a body of sea water into one of freshwater, is carried out. (See graphics)
