如果你看过Dustin Hoffman主演的毕业生，或许会记得片中的那部插曲Scarborough Fair那首由Simon & Garfunkel演绎的歌曲，由此成为传唱全球的经典名曲其实这首歌并非Paul Simon的原创，而是来源于英格兰中世纪的民谣Paul Simon在英格兰游历时，听到民谣乐手Martin Carthy演唱这首歌，就改编成了现在的Scarborough Fair当年Martin Carthy之后还控告Paul Simon剽窃了他的作品，最终胜诉直到2000年Paul Simon邀请他在英国同台演出，他才抛弃前嫌一同参与了演出歌中所唱的Scarborough坐落于英格兰海岸，在中世纪时成为一个商业集市，吸引了来自于英格兰各地的商人和乐者。集市从每年8月15日开始，一直要持续45天之久，非常繁华而今这个拥有悠久历史的小镇，重新回复到宁静之中歌词里的四种香草，据说代表不同的寓意Parsley was comfort, sage was strength, rosemary was love, and thyme was courage. 芫荽意味着安慰，鼠尾草意味着力量，迷迭香意味着爱情，百里香意味着勇气
