Couple fined for having sex in public

Two Thai workers were fined S$1,000 each for having sex in a public park on Sunday evening.

The couple, construction worker, Ngernthaisong Phichet, 36, and his girlfriend, Phloetphrao Somphan, 35, who is here on a social pass, pleaded guilty to committing an obscene act in public.

The couple were caught stark naked by an auxiliary policeman after he heard sounds coming from a bush at Harmony Hub along Beach Road at about 11pm.

The policeman shone a torchlight towards the bushes and found the naked couple in compromising positions.

Both could have been jailed for up to three months and/or fined.
