The winter in Seattle is terrible. It gets dark around 4:00pm and the sun won't come out(if lucky to have one, mostly not) until 8:30am next morning. It's dark, wet, and chilly. So, try not to visit Seattle during winter time.(from late of October to the end of Feb)
Winter time should visit Southern California. It's sunny, cool, and clear view to the snow caped mountain.
