I know Picture Lake on HWY 542 is a drive thru scenic pt and the only place in U.S. you can do a drive thru to a Glacier Lake at such high altitude.

Give me some suggestions about lodging, should we decide to go for the Sunset. (We lazy butts usually see Sunsets from either a cruiseship or on the balcony of our hotel room, the most efforts we took recently, were going up to Haleakala but were rather disappointed. We did get gorgeous one by sheer luck in YS with the gayser also exploding!)
