Hi,
I really appreciate the detailed information and thoughtful suggestions. They help a lot!
It seems the trip to Alaska is not only very interesting and exiting, but also more complex than I thought earlier. I probably need to spend more time to search around, especially for ferry & its schedules and camping/hotel locations.
In addition to the great options you mentioned, which I need more time to digest, another alternative I’m thinking is to drive from Seattle to somewhere in Alaska, and then return back to Seattle before getting to Anchorage. As you said, Anchorage has nothing special to see anyway. This way, I can taste Alaska and also spend more time on major attractions (if any) in Alaska instead of just driving by due to the time limitation. The question is which place in Alaska is the appropriate returning-point before getting to Anchorage. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
