The schedule is not convenient either.

We did the trip back in 2001 - less than 3 weeks after 9-11. Trip was planned w/tickets to Boston and all B&Bs booked. All B&Bs allowed us to cancel but AA wouldn't let us cancel tickets, except allowed change to travel in Nov. We decided to just go as planned, so off we went.

We took a rental car at Boston. Crossed border at Maine to New Brunswick, and did a big circle including PEI (Prince Edward Island).

The regret was Cape Breton - it was sooooo foggy the day we visited the national park. Not only we could not see a thing, we were scared to death driving the one way winding loop at the northern tip of the park, knowing fully one side is cliff - but we could not turn back as it is a one way loop. It is one of the few times we said to ourselves: It is only travel, why we take such risk... I am sure we would say the similar thing in a few months, and in the same country no less!
