Siskiyou Pass

Siskiyou Pass could be treachous if it snows. You can keep on I-5 in WA and cut to coastal highway 101 somewhere in Oregon: Portland, Salem or Roseburg. Then you can either keep on 101 all the way to San Francisco, where is a beautiful drive but takes a while, or cut back to I-5 after the redwoods country.
