南加 Joshua Tree National Park?

I am thinking of squeezing in one day sight-seeing with my 3-day business trip to LA soon. The last time I visited LA was ten years ago. Is that NP worth it? Is it similar to Death Valley (I visited last year)? The other option I have is driving down to San Diego where I have never visited and always want to.
