I’m reminded of a story in the WSJ about a year or two ago where a high school girl was quoted as saying

 

[paraphraing] “The perception among most students is that if your parents don’t care enough to have you diagnosed as ADHD or some other similar Spectrum disorder, then they really don’t love you.
