we always put away our wallets (not just leave on the table), not that we think these kids are bad kids, but because we do not want to tempt them.

Same here, the key is not get yourself into that situation. Once it is where you described, few people can resist.

To your last question, I imagine the answer is yes, after that happen, you will think your significant other is not as great.
