防守比利时Bastogne的美军101空降师师长Gen. Anthony McAuliffe鼓励前线士兵说的。原来的整句是"Hold the line, close the gap."以准备来自德军的进攻。后来Hold the line就成为在对方攻击下保持阵势不乱阵脚的意思。
