Obviously the "Chinese" in the conversation meant

"those guys over there in China".  Do you think they were talking about the Chinese who live in the US?!  What the CCP has done about the virus and the pandemic definitely causes damages to every one of us, but just for the conversation LZ overheard, the "Chinese" didn't refer to him/her.
