Because a private school is richer/more prestigeous than a public? UVA is richer than Georgetown, comrade!

UVA >$12B endowment with 17k undergraduates

GeorgeT <$4B endowment with 8k undergraduates

Another rich public school is UMich--much more resources for undergraduates than UC's
