A Tribute to Master Wan’s Writings (《万爷文章祭》英译诗)

 

A thousand scrolls of pearls in jade retreats,

Where ink through ages breathes its fragrant streams.

He chronicled the grace of ancient feats,

And judged the Spring and Autumn by moonbeams.

 

Across the plain, the driven winds disperse the haze,

I sing, though grief unending stirs my song.

Such matchless wit and heart no time can raise—

The chant is done, frost whitens brows forlorn.
