新绿若金童，难留玉面红。

娇花方润雨，老叶已临风。

春树霜前朽，仙山梦里终。

霞沉清昼起，逝水转头空。

 

Nature’s first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf’s a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.
