有人说世界终于火，
    有人说冰。
从我对欲望的体会
    我偏向火。

译者注：Robert Frost 的名诗 “Fire and Ice" 较他的其它诗歌更现代。它只有短短九行，每行八个或四个音节。且基本遵循抑扬格。全诗共压三个韵-ire, -ice, or -ate。为了警示，但一如既往，Frost 并不给出明确答案。翻译只为抛砖引玉和学习。
     
   Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,          a
Some say in ice.                                         b
From what I’ve tasted of desire               a
I hold with those who favor fire.                a
But if it had to perish twice,                       b
