D3 is not a bad landscape camera either, just that its fast focusing and 9fps capabilities are not needed.

I think Nikon is going to produce a new series, similar to Canon's 5D: full frame but without the sports capabilities --> cheaper.

D300 will probably stay as a crop camera (similar to Canon's xxD series).
