buy Canon 5D which was recommended by his professional photographer friend. His major usage is taking stage shot. He feels it is too expensive to buy. He is looking at D80 with 18-200/f3.5-5.6 VR lens. I have the similar lens. It is very slow! So I told him forget about this one and get a faster lens, at least f/2.8.
