Most EB1 EB2 that were filed before 2004 have been processed. The ones that are currently pending are due to some reasons, such as name check. Their problem won't go away with 排期.

排期大幅跃进 is because there are still many visa number left. But 排期 will be slow once it reaches Jan/July 2005. because right before the 排期, the I-485 processing date is on Jan, 2005.
