There are only a couple of roads cross the coastal mountain range in that area. You take W138 from Crater Lake to Roseburg. There you have a choice of taking 138-38 to Reedsport, or 42 to Coos Bay. Coos Bay is more industry-oriented so I will recommend Reedsport and Florence. The drive from Florence to Sea Lion Caves is also pretty.
