我不记得谁说的了,大意是,many books stopped at the place where interesting things have just begun. 我最近一直在琢磨这句话。
就是说,很多问题,很多topic,很多听来的故事,在表面上看是一回事。当你dig deep的时候,往往容易发现更深刻的东西。比如大部分言情文学就是男女克服了障碍后,决定在一起时,就完了。事实上,他们在一起之后,“真正的问题”,才终于开始了 比如Gone with the Wind,如果这本书就写到女主结婚,或者第三婚这时候完了,那最精彩深刻的地方就都没了。
所以我最近一直在“强迫”自己,不要着急去conclude。写作是件非常、非常疲劳的事。有时候读者读着很轻松,其实 Easy reading is hard writing. 我不鼓励单纯为了凑字数去狗尾续貂,但是在很多、很多时候,一个故事,其实还没完。如果这时候作者很累的话,take a break,休息一下,甚至休息几个月,再来写。Your story deserves it.
