I start to believe the Palin choice was merely a conspiracy. It's hard to believe that they need Palin to energize the base. The mere fact that a black progressive on the ticket is enough to energize them.
GOP strategist might have though the election was there to lose any way, and maybe better off lost that way. But they will gain Palin as a prominent conservative promoter in future, not for presidential hopeful, but for campaigning.
