Lawyers increasing medical costs?

Typical myth spread by the misinformed. CBO (Congressional Budget Office) has concluded that “malpractice costs account for less than 2 percent of [health care] spending.”

Lawyers will not file a lawsuit unless they are sure it is a case with real negligence. Further, the jury, the judge, and the court of appeals are not stupid either. If there's no real case, the lawsuit will be tossed out of court.
