you can get a credit report by yourself

by looking at the credit report, you will notice why you have bad credit. ANd it is a serious thing. It will be hard for you to get a loan ( e.g. to get a mortgage to buy a house) if you have bad credit. To improve it, use the credit cards up to 20-30% limits, and pay credit cards bills very month. Don't open extra credit card. Re-organize your debts.
