I do agree with you that the academic area is not good at universities in China. However, I do not agree with your sentence that "我坚持用英文演讲,因为这是学术界的"母语".但是,那些研究生教授们居然没有几个可以听懂的,让我觉得心底一片悲凉." If you felt sad just because the students did not understand your English presentation, that would be a mistake. You can not judge the ability of the students by their foreign language. I do not think that your English, including mine and many others who come from China after graduating from university is enough to communicate very easily with other English-speakers on an oral presentation at conferences. Do not blame students.
