whereas with Obama, we'd at least have a chance of reducing it in time to avoid the total collapse of social security and medicare. Besides, it's misleading to label the democratic party's platform as "socialistic".

Don't forget, Clinton was a Democrat, and we had great economic growth AND a budget surplus under him.
