I do not want to second guess what happened between them. I made my comments based on what in the original post. Maybe there were stories behind, but I could not even find any hints, other than the excuses he gave in his post.

Again, I am against your opinion regarding "true love for multiple times". Just for this particular case, I am not convinved that he truly loved her.
