simple answer: wrong model. insight: completely misread electorates, by extension, America.

My explanation: FoxNews and conservative chatter echo chamber.

There is no way anyone who think and believe that they are the ONLY "real" americans would have any remote possibility to read the American correctly. It's call delussion!
