false ego won't go a long way

I don't understand why so many Chinese, especially men, think trying to blend in is kissing a##. You can't be too proud and waiting for others to be friendly when you enter a new job/country. it's YOU that have to make the efforts. It is true that Americans might not take you into their heart as good friends, the difference will always be there. But you will earn their respect when they understand you.
