怎么办呢？

今天一同事兴冲冲的给看一张她儿子的照片（2岁），然后开始等我的反应。我赶快说"wow, cute, so cute"。她有些失望，指我看旁边 (a big "Hooters" sign)，原来她老公带她2岁儿子去美女restaurant, which is supposed to be improper，我的反应应该是吃惊，我只觉得跟性有点关系 (hooter sounds like hooker, but not sure about what hooter is)，不知道该怎样回答，沉默。。embarassing silence...。你们这种不知背景的情况怎么办?
