Edge is cross-branded to Lincoln. It is a cross-over designed from ground up.

 

Explorer until the most recent model had been an truck-based full-size SUV. Expedition competes with extended SUV like GM Surburban (7+ passengers AND lots of space).

 

Only Flex is a cross-over too, but it is larger (7 passengers)
