1990年，香港中国银行大厦落成，此楼高315米，70层，外形很像把大刀。‘既是大刀，必有所砍’，所砍的正是遥遥相望的原来最高而又曾被当作香港象征的汇丰银行大楼，由于居下位，汇丰银行便深感不安起来。为免被‘砍’之虞，经风水大师策划，便在楼顶塑起‘机枪’。
