还在吵博士问题?俺再说两句。

俺支持Woth，其实这是个翻译问题，当然也有历史原因。

PhD在中国就是博士，不是哲学博士。因为中国根本没有Doctor of Philosophy。

按照学位委员会的定义，有工学博士，也有理学博士等，这些对应过来就是国外的PhD.同样国外的PhD in Math就是理学博士，PhD in mechanical engineering就是工学博士，不是哲学博士。

翻译讲究的是信达雅，把PhD翻译成哲学博士是胡整，哗众取宠，和翻译常凯申有一拚。这种翻译只有在国内没有对应词的情况在才用，比如助理教授(Assistant Professor)，高级讲师(Senior Lecturer)。俺还没见谁把Reader翻成读者的，多是说副教授。

事实上，即使在国外，大部分的人只说自己是PhD,不说是Doctor of Philosophy。
