I didn't relate my running with learning until you mentioned this. It is funny that when I used to run, I didn't care so much about pace either. I reached runner's high and didn't want to stop running. Once I ran for two hours without stopping and hurt my knees, for which I had to rest a couple of weeks before going back to the tracks.

I will tell you more about my childhood when I finally feel ready to write it down.
