1. 参与商是中国古代的星宿名，按照当今天文学的星座划分，参星是现在的猎户座，商星是天蝎座。参星在西而商星在东，当一个上升，另一个下沉，永不相见。辜译sounds closer.

2.your translation of 世事两茫茫doesn't seem very accurate. A lot of modern Chinese paraphrases read it as "人情世事竟然都如此渺茫".
