You're writing with your soul.

Your soulful memory recalls me of these days...now they're awakened...I said goodbye to them and stepped into the south-bound train, I begged them to go home but they always followed me into carriage and helped me put luggages onto the rack, then still hesitated to leave...until whistle blew urging them to go. When train moved, I dared not to look back, but still seeing them, mom and dad and brother, waving...waving...

Twice a year, winter and summer.

Each time when the train started, an old old song always haunted in my ears, always.

Five Hundred Miles

If you miss the train I'm on,
You will know that I am gone,
You can hear the whistle blow a hundred miles.
A hundred miles, a hundred miles,
A hundred miles, a hundred miles,
you can hear the whistle blow a hundred miles.

Lord, I'm one, Lord, I'm two, Lord,
I'm three, Lord, I'm four, Lord,
I'm five hundred miles a way from home.
Away from home, away from home,
Away from home, away from home,
Lord, I'm five hundred miles away from home.
Not a shirt on my back,
Not a penny to my name.
Lord, I can't go back home this-a way.
This-a way, this-a way,
This-a way, this-a way,
Lord, I can't go back home this-a way.

If you miss the train I'm on,
You will know that I am gone,
You can hear the whistle blow a hundred miles.
A hundred miles, a hundred miles,
A hundred miles, a hundred miles,
You can hear the whistle blow a hundred miles.

This oldie was shared here once before. Now thank you for your touching story, which let me whisk the dust off my mind and bring this song back again.

It's life, isn't it?
