Songs My Mother Taught Me is the title of a song by Antonín Dvo345;ák which forms part of his Gypsy Songs cycle, (Cigánské melodie, B. 104/4, Op. 55/4), written for voice and piano in 1880. They are set to poems by Adolf Heyduk in German.

The song was famously recorded by Nellie Melba, Jeanette MacDonald, Joan Sutherland, Paul Robeson, Angela Gheorghiu and Renée Fleming. It is also featured on the album Charlotte Church.

The title Songs My Mother Taught Me has frequently been used by singers in recitals or on recital discs, even when the song itself is not included in the recording.

Fritz Kreisler transcribed the song for violin and piano and performed it frequently. It was first published in 1914.

Antonín Leopold Dvo345;ák (September 8, 1841 – May 1, 1904) was a Czech composer of Romantic music, who employed the idioms and melodies of the folk music of Moravia and his native Bohemia.

His works include operas, symphonic, choral and chamber music. His best-known works are his New World Symphony (particularly the slow movement), as well as his Slavonic Dances, American String Quartet, and Cello Concerto in B minor.
